Check out MadCityMike’s blog

http://madcitymike.blogspot.com/2010/03/monthly-gathering-of-crankers.html

My friend, Jean, and I went to the Madison monthly crank-in this Saturday and Mike was there.  Mike’s a blogger and took photos of the event that he posted in his blog (the link is above).  He has a beautiful machine, it’s a NZAK and had also made some gorgeous tubies (sock blanks made on a CSM).  It’s so nice to have photos of the places you go and the people you meet, Mike’s a dedicated blogger and I’ve got lots to learn from him about this blogging thing.  He also took a photo of me and the blanks I brought to show everyone there, so go check out his blog and say hello.

Holy Cow!

Posted by Fairy Yarnmother on March 10, 2010

I’m getting lots of hits on my blog this morning!  Susan B. Anderson spoke at the Milwaukee Knitting meeting last night and was looking at some of my sock blanks after the meeting.  She said she was going to put my links in her webpage for people to look at.  SO now I’ve got to put in some photos in so people can see what she was looking at  :)

Thank you Susan!

I think this is the yarn that caught Susan’s eye.   I’ve been trying to knit accessories for my home in the arts and crafts style, so this rose pattern was on my mind.

I’m vending at the Madison Knit-in on March 13th and wanted to dye some flowered blanks for spring.  Cute, eh?  I’ve had lots of fun trying to paint them.  I brought a few of them to the Janesville Knit-in in February and a lovely woman snapped them all up…. so I had to make more.

forgive the camera cord!

I’m so excited!  The Fairy Yarn Mother web site is here. But I’m getting ahead of myself, I should tell you what it is first. It’s just the best damn on-line, web site on the internet for hand dyed yarns and fiber! Yup, that’s what it is, and you’re gonna love it! It came about because my good friend Riin and I re-connected after several years and discovered that we were both doing the same thing, we had started businesses selling our hand dyed yarns. Riin and I meet in 1992 when I worked in Ann Arbor, we knit together every week for years and years. Anyone that’s ever been in a knitting group knows how well you get the know people when you knit in a circle. 8 years ago my job took me home to Wisconsin, we lost touch for a while but fortunately reconnected last year. Early this year we decided to combine forces to creat Fairy Yarn Mother!  The above photo shows a mix of the yarns and fiber for sale on the new site, http://www.fairyyarnmother.com, check back to see our progress on it.  Thank you for looking.
