Going Green Cleaners

Here’s some idea’s if you don’t want to use fabric softeners on your laundry.

My step sister gave me a nice window cleaner recipe last year, it’s streak free. It really works. Use crumpled up newsprint as your towel, mix 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1 tablespoon cornstarch in 1 quart of warm water. I put the mix in a spray bottle. the solution will store indefinately, just shake it up before you use it.

I also found a great pet stain recipe that works for old stains. put a few drops of dish soap in a mason jar, fill it up with equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water, then add 2 tablespoons of baking soda and shake. Let it soak into the carpet, because pet stains soak in. You’ll see it bubble while it’s working on the stain. When it stops, then run a wet vac over it. If you can still smell the stain, then do it again and let it sit longer. This one’s been a life saver. The first humid summer we moved into our house, I noticed some old stains that smelled. I tried everything to get it that smell out, year after year, then I tried this recipe and it worked right away.
