Jim and I just got back from the Crank-in in Columbus. We had Jeep trouble on the last day and got some mighty good help from some wonderful people. Our steering wheel locked up, and the key wouldn’t turn. That’s an experience I don’t care to repeat. Thank you Dawn for carting us around so we could get things fixed and be on our way. Thank you Pete for wailing on the steering wheel for us! I’m sure you helped get it into position so that the tow truck operator could start it. And thank you Renice, Pat and Barb for watching my stuff while all this was happening. I’m very grateful that you were there and send you heartfelt thanks!
Thank you Friends!

DIY Sock Blockers
Posted by FiberArtCafe on October 1, 2009
Here’s a great idea from Little Sesame Knits. Sock Blockers made from plastic placemats! She’s got a template in her website if you look for it (may be in ravelry). Now I’ve got to go to Walmart and pick some up!

Here’s photos from the WI sheep and wool festival
Posted by FiberArtCafe on September 22, 2009
Finally got around to downloading photos of my booth at Sheep and Wool! Jean helped me unload all of the merchandise and make everything pretty (thanks Jean). We took photos before anyone got there so the merchandise is all full. Sorry it’s taken so long to write a post, I’ve been busy! It takes more time then you think to unpack everything and go though your inventory (for the FairyYarnMother site) to make sure everything that sold at the show got taken off the website.

Estonian Cast on for Sock Knitting
Posted by FiberArtCafe on August 16, 2009
Below is a link for Nancy Bush’s favorite cast-on video. I needed a something stretchy cast on for a new pattern and found this video. Enjoy.

Also found this on youtube. My husband and I just watched Bruce Campbell in his latest B-Movie, My Name is Bruce. :) He’s hilarious.

wrist warmers
Posted by FiberArtCafe on August 14, 2009
It’s not the right season to think about how to keep your hands warm, but I’ve been making lots of these little knits to sell at Wisconsin Sheep and Wool festival in September and they’re working out well. I’ve been using the left-overs from making socks, and also using up the last bits on my coned yarns, to make them. They work really nice for arthritis and carpal tunnel problems because they add a little support to your wrists as well. I’ve been using them in air conditioned rooms and they’ve helped to keep my hands working. I have arthritis. They take up a bit of time to make, but I think it’s worth it. Well, here’s some pictures.
